  • Men often feel they are expected to be strong, stoic and steady.

  • Men are generally not as aware of the signs of poor mental health as their female counterparts.

2 / Psychological
  • Men often experience loneliness, stress and depression.

  • When left unchecked, these feelings can lead to anger or withdrawal.

  • With the added pressure of social stigma, men are often left feeling hopeless or powerless.

3 / Behavioural
  • Men will often turn to self-soothing behaviours, including drinking, substance use, workaholism, gambling and pornography, to distract themselves from negative emotions.
