Men's Mental Health

It's often the case that men experience the same mental health issues as everyone else, however, there is still a lot of stigma, mystery and fear around asking for help. What I've found in my practice is that a large number of men feel isolated, confused and unsure of how they're expected to behave within the broader community. There seems to be a tension between needing to provide, be strong and reliable, whilst also needing to be caring, open and vulnerable.

These issues often lead to self-soothing, which involves things like excessive drinking, gambling, gaming and unwanted anger. Over time, these feelings lead to resentment towards others, which begins to destroy relationships.

I can work with men to help them understand themselves and their emotions, whilst also giving them the tools and the vocabulary to communicate their needs to those around them. It is possible to be your authentic self, have your needs met and feel accepted within your community.

If you're ready to talk about how to feel connected again, I'm ready to listen.
